In Reception, our curriculum follows the same philosophy, but becomes more academic as we teach the children the more formal skills of reading and writing. We base our teaching on the Early Years Foundation Stage of the English National Curriculum, but we encourage all our teachers to be adventurous in going beyond the curriculum and bringing the very best out of every child.
We have high expectations of our children, but also celebrate individuality and want our children to show character and be proud of who they are. Developing the whole person, spiritually, socially, physically and morally is extremely important to us and values and manners are a vital part of our education.
In reception children are given opportunities to take extra- curricular activities after academic lessons finish every day to broaden their experiences.
